Welcome to Crésantignes !
Crésantignes is a green and rural village where you will see brick houses, half-timbered houses as well as farmhouses and modern housing estates, all contributing to the beauty of the place, brought to life by its inhabitants.
Along the tracks, enjoy and discover an authentic, beautiful, peaceful nature, and listen to the sound of the birds’ songs, true music to your ears.
In the centre of the village, you can visit an originally named museum: the “Musée du Passé Simple” (“simple past museum”). It showcases ancient tools and utensils to recall the daily life and customs of the past. Thanks to new items regularly added to its collections, the museum tries to revive the memory of a not-so-distant past. This game will make you discover other places in Crésantignes.
Enjoy your discovery walk and pay attention to the details!
At the entrance to the car park, have a look at the bending machine used in the past to affix metal rings to wooden wheels (in order to protect them and preserve them on the long run). The hot strapping of a wheel arrived at the end of its manufacture. This last stage (very spectacular) required a true expertise to make sure the wheel would not end burned, the circle burst or badly fixed.
Now, look across the street at the brick building housing the “Musée du Passé Simple”. If you fancy a visit back in time, you do not need to search for another Netflix movie nor some sort of new experience using strange products… Just push the door of this charming museum and you will find all the everyday objects or our great-grandparents! This museum has become a true collector’s dream.
If you would like to visit, please call +33 (0)3.25.73.48.64. If you want to come with a group, make sure to book your visit. The museum participates in the “Sunday in the Country” (Dimanche à la Campagne) and the “Heritage Days” (Journées du Patrimoine), so it is open on these dates.

Opposite, there is a roadside cross, more precisely a tomb cross where the body of Timothée Pain is buried. He was a farmer and he left behind a wife called Anne-Clarisse, and children.

The Mogne is a river in the Aube department which flows through 13 communes over 16.6 km. On this path, you will come across well-marked mountain bike/pedestrian circuits (starting from Jeugny and passing through Crésantignes and Fays-la-Chapelle) of 9.5 and 19 km. The circuits separate at La Villeneuve and are indicated with 2 different numbers that you can see on your way. Keep an eye out! All the information is available on: Click here
Continue along this path, turning left twice. When you reach the houses at the end of the “rue de l’étang” (at the end of the grassy path), go straight ahead and turn left (after the pumping station) into the street “ruelle aux Gauthiers” (beautiful tree).
